Richard Ayoade
Richard Ellef Ayoade was born in London in 1977. He is a a multi-award winning British comedian, actor, broadcaster, filmmaker, author, narrator & film buff. The success of Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place (which he co-wrote, directed and starred in) was followed by his BAFTA award winning role in The IT Crowd, and numerous other TV credits. In 2010, Ayoade made his debut directorial feature, Submarine, a BAFTA nominated, coming-of-age comedy-drama he adapted from Joe Dunthorne's 2008 novel of the same name. His second feature film in 2013, the black comedy thriller The Double, was based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's 1846 novella The Double; it was written by Ayoade & Avi Korine. His first book, Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odyssey, was published in October 2014. Richard is married to actress / producer Lydia Fox & they reside in England.
