Season 2:
A comatose man named Frank Ford begins recovering when his favorite baseball team starts winning. Dr. Jack and wife Jocelyn decide to stop her treatment and move to hospice care.
Charley works with Jocelyn as Dr. Jack struggles to settle into his support role for his dying wife, a popular podcaster. Janey cares for a delightful senior, Ida... and forms a connection with her charming grown grandson Mario. Tamara's new Type 2 diabetes diagnosis makes work more complicated for her at Sunset House.
Charley walks home from work. His wife Alice manages family issues. Janey cares for declining Ida as Mario struggles with grandma's condition. Tamara's health necessitates extra work hours. Charley bonds with Alec through shared grief.
Charley cares for Mason, a client who body has been ravaged by his lifelong struggles with anorexia. Tamara tends to a shy, terminally ill woman, Callie, and her overbearing older sister, Harper, who pits Scott against Tamara. Janey gets a welcome surprise when Mario returns to ask her out on a date. Meanwhile, Charley's budding romance with Alec is derailed by his kid's objection to their romantic intentions.
Charley takes care of Hannah, a horror writer with a brain tumor who in her final days has come to regret her legacy of scary novels and movies. Janey and Mario enjoy a picnic date at Sunset House. Sadie and the Grief Share group help Charley come to terms with an old failure. Charley seeks out and apologizes to Toby's parents, finally letting go of the burden.
Charley's latest client, Lily, is concerned she isn't going to get to say goodbye to her daughters, but they come through in the end - all FOURTEEN of them. Turns out Lily is the most awesome foster care mom ever. Janey gets bummed when Mario gets accepted to medical school... in Nashville.
