Horrible Histories: Gory Games (2011)

Horrible Histories: Gory Games is a television quiz and game show co-produced by Citrus Television and Lion Television for the BBC. It is a spin-off of the Horrible Histories TV show. The first series began on 30 May 2011. The show is hosted by Come Dine With Me host Dave Lamb and Rattus Rattus, the Horrible Histories rat puppet. The show revolves around "horrible facts". The show has produced two series so far with a third one in production to air alongside Series 5 of Horrible Histories. Author of the Horrible Histories book series Terry Deary sometimes makes guest appearances on the show in the form of a monk.

In the first episode of a second series, Rattus tries to get the contestants to play a truly revolting Georgian warm up game. Luckily, Dave steps in just in time.

Episode 2: Episode 2 (Apr 10, 2012)
Quirky quizzes and gory games. The contestants have to see how many flies they can catch, and they are pretty big.
Episode 3
Episode 3: Episode 3 (Apr 11, 2012)
It is time for one of Rattus' favourite games - the Middle Ages Pig Piano. Part musical instrument, part Sunday lunch! Contestants have to repeat the Piggy squeals in the right order, or something unspeakable will happen.

Episode 4: Episode 4 (Apr 12, 2012)
Rattus has borrowed Dave's watch without his permission. Also, there is a coin to release from Barmy Brunel's throat, some keys to find in some pretty slimy pirate barrels and Henry VIII is demanding pies to be fed to him.

Episode 5: Episode 5 (Apr 13, 2012)
Dave is pretty fed up with Rattus' new game Plopscotch. He's definitely going to need a change of shirt. The Horrible Historians try to work out how to build a pyramid and make two identical portraits of Queen Elizabeth. They watch out for Emperor Vitellius, and a cauldron of truly horrible Garum Sauce.

The seagull is back at the Battle of Trafalgar - it's amazing that it manages to dodge the cannon balls being fired straight at it. William the Conqueror's tomb is being looted again and you so know what's going to happen! Yes, his stomach will explode. It's so wrong, it's right!

There is nothing quite like firing a severed head from a catapult to get you in the mood for some fun! The Roman Savage Siege is in full swing in this episode, along with one of Rattus' other favourites: Tudor Gong Farming - all that poop!

There is nothing the rat likes better than a maggoty biscuit whilst watching our contestants play the pig piano, and rob a Victorian Grave or two. Our Horrible Historians are put through their paces with quirky quizzes, playing for those all-important year spheres.

Contestants raid a pirate's treasure, find out if the God of Cupboards was real in Roman times, work out the sequence of cogs to stop barmy Brunel choking on a coin, and finally get covered in poo.

William the Conqueror is back in his tomb waiting for another set of looters to grab as much colour-coded treasure as they can - did we mention that his guts would explode? There are WW1 words to decipher and enough garum sauce to fill several Roman cauldrons. Dave and Rattus are around to make sure there is fair play.
