Season 1:
To everyone else in town, Hong Samnom is known as a man who'll do anything for money. But to his adoptive father, he's known by a different name.
As the other eunuch trainees try their best to pass the three exams, Samnom tries her best to fail, but someone wants to make sure she stays.
Samnom is stunned when she sees her exam result for her blank answer sheet. The king's mental state is becoming increasingly unstable.
At the king's upcoming birthday banquet, the crown prince plans to seek permission for regency from the Qing envoy, who's notoriously hard to please.
No one can identify or locate the mysterious woman who performed the solo dance. Samnom requests permission to attend the Lantern Festival.
The crown prince's attitude toward Samnom completely changes. Eunuch Ma Jongja tells the Qing envoy that he can bring what the envoy desires most in Joseon.
A rumor spreads in the palace that the crown prince doesn't like women. Another rumor says that eunuchs and court ladies are carrying on affairs.
For Samnom, the crown prince's confession is bittersweet. The crown prince and Premier Kim Heon butt heads regarding the national civil service exams.
Samnom starts avoiding the crown prince's palace. The crown prince finds her at Royal Consort Park Sooki's residence, where Princess Yeongeun has gone missing.
As political unrest grips the capital, the king decides to hasten the crown prince's marriage with a candidate he already has in mind.
The crown prince defends the young girl who's accused of treason, but poison discovered in the king's meal gets linked back to the girl's father.
Hong Raon's mother is alarmed by what Raon has been doing. The crown prince finds evidence of corruption committed by a minister from the Kim family.
Realizing the danger of her staying in the palace, Raon secretly prepares to leave. The crown prince orders a search for the attacker who escaped.
The crown prince is deeply affected by Raon's absence. The chief eunuch reminds Kim Byeongyeon where Raon needs to be. The queen gives birth to a baby.
The crown prince wishes to know what Raon's true intentions really were. The chief eunuch senses that there's a traitor within the Baekwoon Group.
The news of Hong Gyeongrae's return shocks everyone. Even while putting her life at risk, Raon wishes to reenter the palace to meet her father.
One month after the chaos at Hong Gyeongrae's interrogation, Premier Kim notifies the queen that her baby boy will soon become the crown prince.
Jeong Yakyong gets summoned to the palace to treat the crown prince, and Raon follows in disguise. Rumor has it that the crown prince is dying.
