Season 3:
Pine Pienaar supposedly under went some or other change. In the evenings he baths his children and, like clockwork, goes to sleep in his own bed with clean thoughts. If he sees a woman that pushes his blood pressure up, he just recites Psalm 23. Well, that’s what he says, and he believes it too - until Dot arrives in town.
A jackal changes his stripes but not his ways. Neither does Pine, and he is knee deep in trouble - but he's not the only one. Basie has a new girl and she is just as deep in trouble. And it’s not long before Basie is with her. When Delores tries to help, it’s a recipe for greater problems.
What do you do when you discover that your girlfriend has a man and three children that she never told you about? And what do you do when you find out that this man has more skeletons in the closet than the hair on his teeth? This is Basie’s dilemma.
Private Investigator, Sakkie de Vos, might not know much about women, but he’s a remarkable sniffer. While the rest of Kosmos residents are trying to sort out their marriage problems, Sakkie unravels a secret that still has to be discovered.
It isn’t news that Andries Bester has problems. He always has problems. But this time it is serious because Hester is threatening to finally leave him. Then something strange happens. He picks up the phone at exactly the same time someone phones the wrong number. Or was it the right number?
It’s again that time in Kosmos: everyone that’s alive and kicking has either women or men problems. Amanda de Waal’s estranged husband is out on bail and this gives Basie her sleepless nights. And Thys Tredoux feels his has had enough. He chooses the highway and leaves Kietie high and dry.
Theuns Kok, the man that always comes second in Pine Pienaar’s life, might have skeletons in his closet. Who’s better equipped to find out than Sakkie de Vos? And that’s what happens when Louise, the woman that Theuns romanced away from Pine, suddenly reappears on the scene.
Is it possible that Pine has a few new beginnings somewhere in his closet? But the true test comes when Louise, the love of his life who turned him down after the wedding invitations were already printed, suddenly stands in front of him like Eve with an apple.
For the Kosmos-friendship circle it is apparently time for a change. Frieda and Pine’s divorce case is just round the corner; it seems like Hester’s giving all her compassion to Andries for the umpteenth time and everything indicates that Dolores and Sakkie’s relationship is something of the past. But with that group of rare friends no one knows what will happen tomorrow.
All good things come to and end. Not that the love lives of the Pienaars and Se Wets and De la Reys and Besters from Kosmos always delivered good things. Under those still waters the devil was always restless. But one good swallow suddenly changed the whole outlook of summer. Or almost…
