Synopsis

The nicest guy in the Midwest moves his family into a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness. That includes their new next-door neighbor Calvin.

Seasons

The first season follows Dave Johnson, an optimistic, "nicest guy in the Midwest," who relocates his family from Michigan to a predominantly Black neighborhood in Pasadena, California. His immediate neighbors are the Butlers, whose opinionated patriarch Calvin initially rejects Dave's overwhelming neighborliness, fearing it will disrupt the block's culture.
