Frau Winkler (1970)
Mrs. Winkler is very old and severely sick. She lives alone because her daughter can no longer take care of her and does not have enough money for a place in a nursing home or home care. As a solution, her daughter decides to get an automated care assistant for Mrs. Winkler. At first, Mrs. Winkler is skeptical of the robot, but over time she develops a certain affection for it. The care assistant can entertain and support her in ways that her daughter cannot because of her own responsibilities. Eventually, Mrs. Winkler even recognizes the possibility that the robot could assist her in dying, which gives her some comfort.
