Kate & Koji (2020)
Kate runs an old-fashioned café in a seaside town, and develops a strong, if sometimes volatile, friendship with asylum-seeking African doctor Koji. Although from different worlds, Kate and Koji are similar in ways they do not see for themselves.

Season 2:
A return to the cafe of Kate, a woman with strong views that she loves to share with Koji and her nephew, Medium. Kate is to be awarded a star prize.
Kate lets asylum-seeker Koji run the cafe, which he does all too well. Meanwhile, Medium wants feedback on the novel he's written.
Koji has an unpleasant experience which Kate tries to put right, with the aid of a World War Two gun.
Despite his disastrous record, Koji decides to take a chance on romance and Kate decides she's going to help him. What could possibly go wrong?
When her lifelong enemy suddenly decides to make amends, Kate thinks she smells a rat. Meanwhile, Koji develops a curious symptom.
Kate ignores her friends' advice and stands against Councillor Bone as the local police and crime commissioner. Medium is set to leave for a job abroad, while Koji's appeal is going badly and it looks as if Kate may be left alone.
