Season 1:
Liang Cheng, a famous singer, is nominated for two awards - but so is her rival, Mang Lanzhi. Meanwhile, on the digital front, streamer Herman (aka student Lu Jing) succeeds in his mission quickly so he can watch his idol's awards show.
Liu Jing agrees to help a friend of a friend but doesn't know it is his idol. She is terrible but persistent. Sun BinYu is off in the backwoods filming. Liu Jing has fans. Liang Cheng visits campus looking for inspiration.
Frustrated and unable to compose, Liang Chen escapes into the game. She finds out that her guide is Herman, a renown gamer, and that he is a fan of hers. Herman finds out that she collects items for him, not for herself.
Lu Jing learns that his idol likes watching his streams. He sees Liang Chen at a restaurant and tries to return an earring that she lost. Herman records a clip of her game-play for his collection.
Liang Chen, inspired, composes something different. Liu Jing attends a masked party and is mistaken for someone else. A tipsy Liang Chen posts an after-party pic but deletes it the next morning. Liu Jing doubts what he saw, but wonders.
Lu Jing misses interacting with "Little Box" in the game but discovers coincidences, links between them at the school. He is now pretty sure that she is Liang Chen. Meanwhile Liang Chen tries something new but gets shot down.
Both are eager to play but life gets in the way. Lu Jing invites Little Box out but she defers answering, nervous about revealing herself. Ding Jia Yun asks for Liang Chen's help. Ma Shanshan isn't keen on Sun Bin Yu.
Lu Jing's data competition is in the same hotel where Liang Chen's birthday celebration will be. Liang Chen and Ma ShanShan have a awkward run-in. Lu Jing and Liang Chen end up in the same cyber cafe.
Lu Jing and Zhou Zhou try hard to switch numbers with other presenters at the conference so they can attend Liang Chen's birthday celebration - which Zhou Zhou had gotten tickets for. They only arrive after the lucky numbers are drawn.
Liang Chen comes back online but her voice is no longer disguised. Lu Jing attends the school anniversary rehearsal hoping to meet her. Meanwhile Liang Chen does her best to get through her schedule so she can be at the rehearsal, too.
Lu Jing knows that Little Box is actually Liang Chen and meets her at the anniversary rehearsal. She recognizes him from the flight and his voice seems familiar, but his identity is only confirmed after she's embarrassed herself.
Liang Chen performs at the anniversary celebration but is still flustered whenever she runs into Lu Jing. On the way home she runs into a drunken Ma Shanshan and makes sure she gets home safely. Sun Binyu returns home.
Ma ShanShan visits Liang Chen, providing an opportunity for Sun Binyu. Lu Jing, jealous, keeps intruding on a dinner party. Overconfident, he turns down a request to lead Liang Chen but regrets it when she looks elsewhere.
Liang Chen streams the game with Herman to guide her - but she wasn't expecting it to be in person. She continues to hide her identity from him. Ding JaYun tries to be more forward in his affections but suspects a rival in Lu Jing.
Lu Jing confront Liang Chen directly in the game. They go on their first date together. Ma ShanShan is melancholy. Sub BinYu invites everyone over for hot pot.
Everyone seems to catch a cold. Ding JiaYun tries to warn Lu Jing off. Liu Shun calls Lu Jing for help with a program. Liang Chen gets a diagnosis she wasn't expecting.
Liang Chen breaks down on Lu Jing's shoulder and is worried about her diagnosis. She doesn't want surgery but everyone around her is pushing her in that direction.
Lu Jing's roommates think he has hooked up with Gu Feiming. Liang Chen agrees to see a specialist. Ma ShanShan shows up with duck soup. While recovering, Liang Chen decides to make a turn in her career.
Meng LanZhi's rivalry with Liang Chen's is in the news. A reporter follows Liang Chen to the school. Ding JiaYun reminds her to consider the effect of media attention on Lu Jing. Liang Chen tries to get Ma ShanShan involved in music again.
Ding JiaYun offers a way out of the scandal but Lu Jing objects. Lu Jing's roommates continue to think he's heartbroken over Gu FeiMing's relationship with Qi Qi. Liang Chen rejects a song, claiming it's not suitable.
Ding JiaYun confesses to Liang Chen on Christmas Eve, his birthday. Later she in enchanted by the Box plushy Lu Jing gives her. An unexpected caller upsets Ma ShanShan. Lu Jing's flatmates embarrass him.
Lu Jing and Sun BinYu are like nervous kids as they watch Liang Chen and her rival on the music competition show. Sun BinYu mentions Lu Jing's girlfriend to his grandparents when he goes over to borrow some sesame.
Ding JiaYun is sad but accepts Liang Chen's relationship with Lu Jing. Dinner at Sun BinYu's is an awkward affair. Ma ShanShan hears upsetting news and gets into an accident. Liang Chen learns of Lu Jing's academic plans.
Ma ShanShan visits Liang Chen to thank her. Liang Chen compares a relationship with a mature man and a relationship with a younger man. Lu Jing's roommates call "Little Box" to intervene in Lu Jing's suffering.
The roommates blackmail Lu Jing with a photo of him and Liang Chen. Yuan KeKe turns into a fan-girl when she finds out that Lu Jing is Herman. Ma ShanShan discovers that Sun BinYu knows more than she thought.
Sun BinYu brings Ma ShanShan to Liang Chen's studio in his new car. Lu Jing and Liang Chen both tackle huge projects down to the wire. A possible solution for Liang Chen's composition comes from a surprising source.
Ma ShanShan and Liang Chen make up and apologize for past differences. Lu Jing and Liang Chen enjoy a trip together just like a normal couple. Sun BinYu and Ma ShanShan go on a picnic but luck never follows them.
Their trip is cut short after a photo is leaked of Liang Chen and Lu Jing together. Lu Jing's grandmother is hurt. Ding JiaYun offers support. Ma ShanShan and Sun BinYu both feel a little jealous after the live-stream.
Ma ShanShan attends Sun BinYu's play and meets his ex. Liang Chen's parents pay her a surprise visit but she isn't able to get through to Lu Jing in time to stop him from coming over. An interview sends Ma ShanShan into a pain spiral.
Ma ShanShan admits her heartbreak to Sun BinYu who later finds and gives her evidence she can use against Li Qi. Liang Chen accidentally interrupts Herman's live-stream. She meets his father after her performance.
Lu Jing graduates. Ma ShanShan rushes around and Lu Jing uses the opportunity to trick Sun BinYu into confessing his feelings to Ma ShanShan. Lu Jing runs into Ding JiaYun on a flight from London. Ma ShanShan is nominated for an award.
