Finnish peace negotiator Ann-Mari Sundell has recently retired from her post as a crisis response adviser in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Suddenly, she is invited by the UN mandate to lead an international conflict resolution process in Turkey. As the peace talks proceed, Ann-Mari has to reconcile with her past before her personal life comes in the way of the whole peace process.

Ann-Mari sends Emilia and Diyar to investigate mass graves at the Turkish border.
Ann-Mari manages to arrange a secret meeting with the exiled Kurdish leader Binav Bashur.
The persecution of the Kurds in Istanbul begins. Ann-Mari and her team receive a deportation order.
Ann-Mari and Emilia travel to Spain to find out the fate of Finnish weapons. Explosion occurs in the Alhambra fortress, who is behind the attack?
To Ann-Mari's surprise, Zamen Essayah, who has captured the Alhambra fortress, wants to meet Ann-Mari. Zamen has a message for Europe.
Ann-Mari and Tom meet with Zamen in Alhambra. Zamen is ready to surrender, but the situation in Alhambra gets out of hand.
Ann-Mari sends Asier and Emilia to gather more information about Zamen's plans for a refugee camp. A new attack occurs and Ann-Mari’s worst nightmare comes true.
Ann-Mari travels to Finland and receives support from a surprising party. Tom learns that other parties are on Zamen's heels as well.
