Season 3:
Howard helps Marlene open the lines of communication with her father.
Cobbs is sold to a huge hotel conglomerate and Howard dreams of being made manager of a luxurious resort. He's informed he is staying, at the grocery store and must wear a smock. In frustration he quits.
A corporate spy from the head office investigates Cobb's Supermarket.
Edna and Christian both compete for the manager's job at a new Cobb's store.
Howard mistakenly thinks his brother is dying.
Marlene gets Christian in trouble after complaining to Howard about his behaviour.
Howard tries to help an old vaudeville comedian raise enough money to keep his retirement home open.
Sendrax sends in a staff psychiatrist to evaluate the employees mental health.
Howard writes a romance novel using the staff at Cobb's as characters in his book.
Edna attempt to make changes in her stagnant relationship with Howard.
Marlene agrees to become a surrogate mother for a yuppie couple who shop at Cobb's supermarket.
Jack meets Marlene's friend Barbara and asks her for a date. They get together for dinner and Jack is very surprised she has a 10-year old son Peter. Jack hastily leaves, regrets it, and returns to ask for a second chance.
The new bag boy Derek looks up to Howard and the manager gets used to the attention. But when Howard learns that Derek isn't planning on continuing school to make being a grocery business permanent he works to dissuade him.
The attractive new cashier Kim makes her attraction to Howard clear and one evening tries to get amorous. Then Howard finds out Kim has a history of suing employers for sexual harassment and becomes worried.
Bannister decides to run for councilman, then later discovers his opponent is a local hero.
Christian pretends to be the manager of Cobb's when his mother visits.
Leslie's hopes of winning an acting scholarship rest on keeping his drama coach sober.
