Season 1:
Spring 1945: Peace in Europe poses great challenges for three young people. The factory owner's daughter Klara looks after young concentration camp survivors in the refugee home. Her husband Johann wants to avert the ruin of the family company. And his brother Egon is hunting down Nazis who are hiding in Switzerland.
Egon is looking for a German who is on an Allied blacklist. When looking for a loan for his synthetic fiber project, Johann encounters seemingly insurmountable hurdles and gets advice from an influential lawyer. And Klara wants to fulfill a longing wish for the residents of the home.
Johann brings the German engineer Schneider and his family to Switzerland - the first important step to save the family business. Egon learns that Scholz was a wanted object in the highest Nazi circles. Can he put him in jail? And Klara is looking for a thief in the refugee home.
Klara falls out with Johann and acts dangerously stupid. Johann's synthetic fiber project is about to break through. With that he could save the family business. And Egon gets to feel it firsthand during his investigations: he has messed with very dangerous people.
Johann learns from Egon that Wilhelm Scholz and Carl Frey robbed Jewish families. The young entrepreneur realizes that his synthetic fiber project was probably financed by criminals. And because of the closure of the home, Klara has to find a new home for Jenkele.
Jenkel's disappearance ends in tragedy. Klara finds out that she is pregnant. Egon is about to arrest Scholz and Frey. And Johann is in a dilemma: if he works with the authorities, he will lose the company. If he doesn't, he loses Klara and Egon.
