Season 1:
The 1st year vet students begin learning about horses and cows as the 4th years learn to handle more difficult cases. 1st year student Dan begins a work/study program in the ER and, with 4th year student Sam's help, gets an in depth introduction to the chaos of an ER.
At Cornell University, 4th year veterinary students learn to put their training to good use helping with difficult cases and patients and 1st year vet students begin by learning the very basics of veterinary hygiene.
4th year student Sam has a puzzling case in Oncology, while Aziza gets schooled by a miniature donkey. 1st year students find out where milk comes from as well as how to do general checkups up cows. And Singen carries an adorable patient around...in a purse.
Aria triages a malamute who drank the wrong liquid, Aziza assists with an unusual cardiology patient and freshmen learn where their ice cream comes from.
Aria begins her large animal rotation with a cow, Sam's in Oncology with a puppy who might have cancer and Singen and Aziza attend labs to learn about some specialty care involving horses. Meanwhile, 1st years learn to make the perfect knot and how to draw blood...from a sheep.
The 4th year students continue their rotations with Singen treating a dog who can't see. Sam is in anesthesiology and Aria is working with horses for the first time...and she's terrified. Meanwhile the 1st years learn more about how to handle a horse for a basic mouth exam. This requires sticking their hands into the jaws of a horse's mouth.
4th year Singen participates in surgery on his favorite animal, a young horse named Victor with an angular limb deformity. Aria consults on a former patient who may have cancer. The 1st years travel to a Camelid farm where they treat llamas and alpacas and Cristina gets a taste of what it means to be on call.
A turkey gets surgery to remove a large abscess, a Schnauzer with a very slow heart rate gets a pacemaker and the first years study for their final, which only serves to get them even more confused!
