Season 1:
After taking control of Argentina’s national soccer team, Coach Carlos Bilardo becomes the target of criticism from players, staff, and frustrated fans. Meanwhile, an untested Diego Maradona faces a rocky road to the World Cup.
After qualifying for the 1986 World Cup, Bilardo’s path towards victory is complicated by training challenges, bad press, and a government plot to replace him. In Mexico, Argentina finally gets the chance to prove themselves on the pitch.
After a successful run in Mexico, Bilardo immediately sets his sights on the next World Cup, pushing both his players – and his family – to the limit.
