Season 1:
Struggling actor Jacob Gordon humiliates himself at an audition after a wild night of partying. His cloyish boyfriend Phillip is threatened by an audition Jacob gets for a Broadway musical starring stage and screen royalty, Veronica Bailey. Jacob reconnects with an old flame.
Jacob's dad crashes on his couch after his parents separate and the two go on an adventure in Chinatown. When Phillip puts on a one-man-show, Jacob's eccentric agent, Sam, shows interest. Sam and Phillip begin to freelance behind Jacob's back. Jacob searches for a new therapist.
Jacob lands the romantic lead in 'The Ice Queen," after connecting with the show's star, Veronica Bailey. Jacob works up the courage to break it off with Phillip. Things start to heat up with the new flame, Ben. Jacob moves into a new apartment and rehearsals begin for the musical.

When Phillip proves he's not going anywhere, Ben tells Jacob he's going back to Los Angeles. Sam turns Jacob's apartment into a fully-functioning agency. Veronica gives Jacob an ultimatum.
Struggling actor Jacob Gordon moves to Los Angeles on a prospect that instantly falls through. Jake's boyfriend Ben helps him find a west coast apartment. Sam, Jake's agent, becomes his new roommate. Jacob's religious sister Jenny tries to bring him to the light.
When Ben is offered the role of a lifetime, Jacob struggles to stay supportive. He auditions for his brother- in-law's faith-based film before making a new friend, who introduces Jake to a whole new world.
Jacob's growing curiosity with online promiscuity puts a riff in his relationship. He develops another persona and pushes Ben away. Jake spirals downwards.
Jacob is reluctantly reunited his ex-boyfriend, Phillip. He lands a lead role in a major motion picture opposite famous movie star, Joseph Vincintelli. Sam moves out of the apartment and Jake wonders if he still wants to be an actor.
