Season 1:
Twenty-somethings and wannabe entrepreneurs, Alia and Seleb, have made a pact to buy-over their beloved coffee shop, Kopitiam, from its owner the jaded and cynical Steven. But when their cook Tim accidentally poisons the neighborhood gangster boss, their dreams are about to go up in smoke. Will Steven ever trust them with the Kopitiam again? Meanwhile Steven is in for a shock when his old friend Jo resurfaces after 15 years.
When Alia’s ex-colleague makes nasty comments about her new career path, she spirals out of control. She tries her best to prove to her ex-colleague that she made the right decision about taking over the Kopitiam. But when Seleb makes a terrible mistake and orders more than what the Kopitiam can handle, how would Alia be able to cope? Will she rise to the occasion, or will she crumble under pressure?
A newspaper headline shows that Singapore food is ranked higher than Malaysian food. Affected by the headline, Tim goes from improving staple Malaysia dishes to inventing a new dish to disastrous effects. Steven continues to ignore Jo, who then bonds well with Baboo but then starts getting jealous over their newfound friendship.
Seleb’s social media account is fast approaching its first 10k followers. To celebrate she guilt-trips Alia into hosting a party for her followers. Will her online friends be worth the trouble? Meanwhile, Steven and Jo attempt to take a serious look at their soured friendship by agreeing to a counseling session facilitated by the seemingly multi-faceted Baboo. Will they finally reconcile? Meanwhile, Uncle Chan and Uncle Kong drop in at the Kopitiam
It’s “Bring Your Mom” day, and the Kopitiam is full of customers and their mothers. To Alia’s surprise, her mum appears uninvited and meddles, making life unbearable for her at work. Steven, on the other hand, is forced to confront his past as a hairstylist. Is he really over his passion for hairstyling? Meanwhile, Jo’s mum’s health takes a turn for the worse.
A bereavement forces Steven to face his issues with Jo – will they finally bury the hatchet? Love is in the air with Tim and Seleb but will he find the courage to tell her how he feels? And does Seleb feel the same way? Meanwhile Alia threatens to ruin a porn star’s career at the chagrin of his legions of fans.
When emotions run high between Tim and Seleb, love becomes a battlefield. Seleb goes out on a date with a famous influencer, while Tim joins a dating app. Will things culminate into confessions of love or will the green monster rear its ugly head and threaten to end things before they’ve even begun? Thanks to their shenanigans, Alia needs to pick up the slack and manage the Kopitiam by herself – or will she finally agree to re-hire Baboo?
The Kopitiam isn’t doing well which makes Alia reconsider her future there. It also takes her down memory lane in a bid to decide whether or not to stick by her plans. To Steven and Jo’s surprise, Susan, an old friend from Kopitiam’s past, pays a visit. Aghast to find that Steven has given up his passion for hairstyling, Susan tries to lure him back to his true vocation. Will she succeed?
