Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld and four other comic book artists went rogue and formed their own company, Image, in 1992. And they were on top of the world - for a while.
With Image having taken the comics industry by storm in the early 90s, troubles and tensions amongst the founders led to a period of turmoil. Until the undead stepped into help.
When Robert Kirkman pitched the Walking Dead to Image Comics, no one thought it would be a thing. Instead, it was a catalyst that helped change the company - and the entertainment landscape.
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the founders of Image and the creators of many of its titles such as Robert Kirkman, Matt Fraction, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Cliff Chiang and others reflect on how the company has changed the world.
