Graham is preparing for HELP's annual flag day but his plans go pear-shaped when a rival charity wants to hold an emergency appeal for the flood victims of a tsunami. Everyone thinks the flag day should be postponed. Everyone, except Graham. And as he's the boss, his staff are obliged to obey He has booked the local shopping centre, which is were the emergency appeal helpers will be stationed, and he is prepared to fight to the finish. Meanwhile, there are helpers to recruit, and not one of them meets his exacting requirements. In the shop, Margaret and Joan are delighted to discover a vibrating back massager amongst the donations—and can't understand why their customers are giving them such funny looks.

And what could be more headline-grabbing than flying in a little girl from Africa for a life-saving operation? But Graham's cynical stunt backfires—he who lives by publicity, dies by it. Meanwhile, Margaret and Joan find that the donations of unwanted medicine from the old people's home substantially boost the takings, until the police turn up.

Graham needs to get his charity back in the black. All he has to do is find some people who are at death's door get them to sign a legacy and wait for the money to roll in. But just how far is he prepared to go to get a dying baroness to sign on the dotted line? Meanwhile, Margaret and Joan develop equally devious techniques for persuading customers to part with their hard-earned cash.

Graham recruits a celebrity to present his latest harrowing video. But how does one get a children's TV star to talk seriously about poverty? As usual, Graham has the answer and as usual, it is the wrong one. Meanwhile, Margaret and Joan decide that if they cannot be in the video, they will have some fun of their own.
The Big W
Episode 6: The Big W (Dec 17, 2001)
Graham decides that the best way to put his charity on the map is to find a really nasty disease to campaign against. It's just his luck that someone finds a cure. Meanwhile, Margaret and Joan are charmed by a very distinguished gentleman.
