Dear Mother... ...Love Albert (1969)
A British sitcom created by and starring Rodney Bewes, Bewes co-wrote and produced the series with Derrick Goodwin. The show proved popular and regularly made the TV ratings top ten throughout its three year run. There were 26 episodes, including the three Christmas specials, all three broadcast as part of All Star Comedy Carnival. The fourth and final series was broadcast as a sequel entitled Albert!, which ran for a further series of seven episodes. Series 1 was produced by Thames Television, while the subsequent series 2-4 were produced by Yorkshire Television.

Albert's mother would certainly not approve of his new long hair and, even worse, he has been suspended from work and the factory has come out on strike!
With Mother's day approaching, Albert is full of cold and feeling sorry for himself. But, when he is tucked up in bed, his first concern has to be the phantom figure outside, who looks a lot like his boss and is wanting to teach him a lesson!
When he pays a visit to a factory up North, Albert becomes a hit with the girls on the shop floor. So much so that it affects production but Albert tells the workers that he belongs with them - his manager has other ideas!
It's a bitter sweet moment for Albert when his best friend, Ian, comes to stay with him in London. He is an instant hit with his girlfriend and her mother - and even his boss takes a shine to him as well!
Albert has a date and, having been inspired by the 'Galloping Gourmet', he decides he is going to cook the meal himself. A nice candlelit supper, couldn't be easier?
On a flight to Glasgow, Albert imagines all kinds of adventures that could befall him - in the style of James Bond. But the flight is quite normal except he lands the air-hostess .. and the sack!
Albert has been sacked after his latest indiscretion had been witnessed by the managing director. He tells his fiancée and she promptly hands his ring back - the future looks bleak for Albert.
