Mickey dismisses a veteran teammate, then hires a local escort for a hazardous desert trek. Running out of water after getting disoriented, the group descends into chaos, risking one member's life.
Ickey's film crew embarks on a treacherous journey through the Eastern Andes. A risky bridge crossing precedes their venture deeper into the mountains, where one team member mysteriously vanishes after being sent back.
Mickey loses control of the expedition when an indigenous tribe kidnaps them. He replaces Delfin with an inexperienced woman who accuses him of having a God complex. The team stumbles onto a bizarre subculture, eager to prove her correct.
A near-deadly case of dengue fever almost stops Mickey before he's arrested at gunpoint and imprisoned in Brazil. Missing footage leads to questions about his escape and the expedition's end. Did covert operatives help Mickey to finish it?
