For the Love of Ada is an ITV sitcom that ran between 1970 - 1971. Irene Handl and Wilfred Pickles are senior citizens who find that as romance blossoms, so does emotional turmoil. The series gently charts the relationship between Yorkshireman Walter Bingley and Londoner Ada Cresswell, septuagenarians who meet while Ada is visiting her late husband's grave.

Season 4:
As Ruth appears to be going into labour, Ada and Walter are slightly troubled in their new home by the presence of a ghost.
Ada's convinced the baby is over due, and Walter gambles his months pension.
Ada is about to become a grandmother but when Ruth's baby arrives, Leslie is at first nowhere to be found.
A gentleman admirer starts flirting with Ada and she is flattered but what does Walter think to all this.
It's baby Anthony's christening day. All the family converge on St Nicholas Church in Pyrford to celebrate the event.
Ada tricks her son-in-law Leslie into thinking he has cheated on her daughter Rita, after a boozy night out, so Rita can take advantage of Leslie's guilt.
