Season 1:
After being uprooted from China and rought to Auckland, Jiayue is failing the degree that her father chose for her. Jiayue herself dreams of becoming a professional tattooist.
A shell-shocked Rong finds Jiayue asleep on the floor of his sleepout. During a family photo session, Rong grills Jiayue about her recent breakup and being kicked out of her flat.
Living under the same roof again, Jiayue and Rong both find it hard to keep their secrets. Later, Aifei pushes Jiayue to seek her voice through creating her own original artwork.
Jiayue suffers through and awkward family lunch, sitting next to her ex-boyfriend, Chao. Yi receives a shocking phone call from his parents in China.
A shock visitor's arrival triggers painful memories. A scared and hurt Jiayue escapes to Breaking Dawn Tattoos with Yi, only to find more surprises awaiting them!
Jiayue opens a small tatto studio. Whilst cleaning her father's house, Jiayue is shocked to discover a secret.
With Aifei's sudden departure and Yi's wavering support, Jiayue struggles to keep her studio from failing.
Jiayue's business is finally picking up, but the celebrations aren't as she'd hoped. Meanwhile, Auckland's weather proves too much for Rong.
