Season 1:
39-year old writer Monty Waldin is a man in pursuit of a dream... He’s giving up his life in England and using all his savings to take over a small vineyard in the south-west of France - to produce his own wine.
Monty and Linzie have successfully moved into a little house together. And they’ve been joined by Monty’s dog, Harry.
Monty has been battling on alone for the last month after a bust-up with his assistant, Linzie. Now, after realising he’d overstepped the mark, he’s been waiting for news on whether she will return or not.
As the warm summer sunshine starts to ripen Monty's grapes on his hillside vineyard in the south of France, things are going well. The locals turn out in force in the village square to help Monty celebrate his 40th birthday, his assistant Linzie gets her first lesson in wine tasting and Monty finds somewhere to turn his grapes into the delicious red fruity wine he's hoping for.
It’s now September in the Pyranees. The tourist season is over, but for all the local wine growers it’s the moment they’ve been waiting for all year: harvest time. For Monty, this is the culmination of a dream he’s had for ten years.
After months of hard work, his Carignon grapes have been harvested - and as winter sets in, the risky stage of wine making is underway.
