Season 1:
In the heart of Washington's dangerous, mountainous terrain and under the pressure of impending deadlines, the crew has their work cut out for them as they stabilize the slopes along one of their busiest highways.
After crew leader Dennis gets sent to a different job in Hawaii, careless mistakes are made on the hill as John leads his crew on a dangerous project. The crew must cut down and remove all of the trees off of a slope that is 650 feet wide by 180 feet tall.
Way behind schedule, the team brings on a hotheaded scaler from Niagara to help save the project. After a few narrow escapes from injury and loads of brute strength later, the team ends up setting a company record of dropping 813,000 pounds of rock in two days.
As the crew faces the biggest and most dangerous slope on the project, John finds himself in hot water when he's left without an assistant, two crew members leave his project for vacation, and another just decides to take the afternoon off. Down 4 members, leader Dennis comes back from Hawaii just in time to boost morale.
Returning from a job in Hawaii, Dennis jumps into action and joins the crew on the ropes as the conflict between John and Greg comes to a head, resulting in John wanting to fire Greg.
Three sites, hundreds of tons of dangerous rock, fifteen days. The crew reports to Niagara Falls State Park and is given a mammoth task: make the park safe for the public. They must address several areas in which dangerously loose rock threatens to topple down the slope and injure and destroy anyone or anything in its way.
It's day four of the Niagara Falls project and the Janod crew and its foreman Dennis Harriman continue to battle freezing temperatures, new dangerous discoveries, and the biggest rocks yet in their quest to make Niagara Falls State Park safe for the public.
With tourist season quickly approaching, the Janod crew must complete drilling at the Maid of the Mist and make up for lost time scaling at the Cave of the Winds. With morale at an all-time low, the Janod team works hard to drill six holes at Maid of the Mist and scale 400 linear feet of rock face at Cave of the Winds.
Janod's Niagara project nears an end. One of the last challenges these rock men face is installing and grouting six instrumentation bolts at the Maid of the Mist.
The crew faces their biggest challenge yet when they have to blow up an entire section of a mountain along the highway.
