Season 1:

Episode 1
Episode 1: Episode 1 (Nov 28, 1977)
Detective Senior Sargeant Glenn Taylor returns to the Riverside Police Station after recuperating from a gunshot wound and finds an old friend, Detective Tom Foster, is a chief suspect following a number of gay bashings. Pamela hopes her father can lure Glenn into a safer job managing a shopping complex.
Episode 2
Episode 2: Episode 2 (Dec 01, 1977)
The investigations into the bashings take a more sinister turn for Tom Foster when he becomes the chief suspect in a murder. Danni is worried about a young runaway girl who escaped while she was questioning her. Johnson and Valerie have an enjoyable and entertaining date but Johnson receives a severe blow to his pride the next day.
Episode 3
Episode 3: Episode 3 (Dec 05, 1977)
Danni realises that Kathy Curtis, the young runaway, is in much deeper trouble than she had previously thought. Taylor tells Foster a few home truths, while Foster and his son are reunited.
Episode 4
Episode 4: Episode 4 (Dec 08, 1977)
Taylor discovers that there is a price to pay for being a dedicated cop. Valerie is in trouble and Johnson reveals his particular brand of interrogation methods. Danni undertakes some undercover work for Johnson.
Episode 5
Episode 5: Episode 5 (Dec 12, 1977)
Taylor finds accusations of police brutality have been levelled at one of his team. Gayle takes advantage of her parents' absence, and Johnson has a problem in the aftermath of Valerie's beating.
Episode 6
Episode 6: Episode 6 (Dec 15, 1977)
A case involving an unscrupulous travel agent is investigated. Carol McKenna gives Pamela a suggestion of an interesting panacea for her marriage ills and when Valerie applies for a new job overseas she and Johnson have a terrible argument.
Episode 7
Episode 7: Episode 7 (Dec 19, 1977)
Johnson suffers a heavy loss at poker to a con man then finds he is being set up for blackmail by a safecracker who get him his money back then uses him for an alibi. Gayle has more than she can handle at Vince's party while her mother entertains an ex-boyfriend at her father's beach house. Carol finds McKenna in a compromising situation with Danni.
Episode 8
Episode 8: Episode 8 (Dec 22, 1977)
There is a rapist/strangler on the loose in Riverside and the station is stretched to the limit. Meanwhile, Taylor is having problems with a newspaper reporter. Valerie presses Johnson to make a commitment he's not completely happy about and Gayle takes some decisive action when her father forbids her to see Vince.
Episode 9
Episode 9: Episode 9 (Dec 26, 1977)
Taylor and Pamela are at their wits end trying to locate their runaway daughter. Gayle finds her get-away with Vince not as romantic as she thought. Danni finds herself facing the toughest moment in her career when she is confronted by the rapist/strangler.
Episode 10
Episode 10: Episode 10 (Dec 29, 1977)
Danni is faced with the possibility of a very serious charge. Meanwhile, the detectives find themselves trying to unravel what at first appears to be a serious case of attempted abduction. With Gayle home safely, Pamela returns to consider her marital future and Johnson is thrown by an announcement from Valerie.
Episode 11
Episode 11: Episode 11 (Jan 02, 1978)
Danni faces further investigation as a result of the Stedman case. Johnson finds Valerie's mother is nothing like he expected her to be and Gayle turns her attention from boys to horses.
Episode 12
Episode 12: Episode 12 (Jan 05, 1978)
Taylor receives a tip-off that a retired Inspector of Police has a contract out on his life. Gayle finds it helpful to have a grandfather with money. With the Stedman investigation over, Danni has time to think about her relationship with McKenna.
Episode 13
Episode 13: Episode 13 (Jan 09, 1978)
A politician friend of Eliot-Smith finds himself involved in blackmail which could destroy his career. Thanks to Eliot-Smith, Taylor becomes involved. Pamela is growing increasingly worried about Gayle's attitudes. Valerie grows restless sitting home playing the "kept woman". Johnson just doesn't get it.
Episode 14
Episode 14: Episode 14 (Jan 12, 1978)
A little old lady refuses to be evicted from her home and the Riverside uniformed police find themselves involved in a media stunt. Pamela plans a particular surprise at her dinner party. Valerie feels rejected by Jeff's workmates when no one comes to their rival dinner party.
Episode 15
Episode 15: Episode 15 (Jan 16, 1978)
Investigations into a factory fire reveal more than just a case of arson. Johnson causes a stir at the station when he angrily confronts McKenna about missing Valerie's party. Taylor unknowingly treads on someone's toes.
Episode 16
Episode 16: Episode 16 (Jan 19, 1978)
A trio of frustrated protestors kidnap Valerie in an effort to get one of their own released. A deal to exchange Johnson for Valerie isn't upheld leading to a dangerous culmination of events. For the first time Eliot-Smith's authority is challenged by Pamela. Taylor is annoyed to learn that Gayle's grandfather has been buying her secret expensive gifts.
Episode 17
Episode 17: Episode 17 (Jan 23, 1978)
The investigation into the murder of a popular local footballer uncovers other criminal activities. A man comes into the station asking to be locked up lest he kill his wife. Valerie receives a tempting career offer as a dancer. Danni agrees to help McKenna celebrate his little girl's birthday. Pamela unintentionally makes a faux pas when she tells Carole.
Episode 18
Episode 18: Episode 18 (Jan 26, 1978)
An inspector from Scotland Yard arrives to escort a criminal back to the UK but their target proves to be elusive. Danni is involved in what she considers a question of ethics when she finds her self working undercover. Gayle and Eliot-Smith make secret arrangements to buy her a horse. Carol schemes to spoil McKenna's planned day with his daughter.
Episode 19
Episode 19: Episode 19 (Jan 30, 1978)
The police suspect that a young man who has been bashed knows more about the incident than he makes known. Valerie tries to adjust to life without Johnson. Pamela has an upsetting argument with her father and stands up for her husband.
Episode 20
Episode 20: Episode 20 (Feb 02, 1978)
Danni feels helpless with the protection the law can offer to Elaine. Pamela suffers from the aftermath of her argument with Eliot-Smith. Ronnie comes round to give Valerie the results of her big dance audition.
Episode 21
Episode 21: Episode 21 (Feb 06, 1978)
Valerie is torn — deciding between a career role in a musical or her relationship with Jeff. Constable Benjamin's girlfriend Jill is seriously injured as an innocent bystander in a bank robbery. After being denied the ability to see his daughter on her birthday, McKenna is caught off guard when Carol suggests that he take Kerry for the weekend.
Episode 22
Episode 22: Episode 22 (Feb 09, 1978)
When one of the suspects in the bank robbery is crushed to death, the police investigation assumes more sinister proportions. Eliot-Smith reveals to Pamela that he has been seeing Carol. Benjamin waits anxiously for news of Jill. Nick Williamson turns up to take Gayle to the country club ball.
Episode 23
Episode 23: Episode 23 (Feb 13, 1978)
Taylor is told of a confidential plan to crack a multi-million dollar heroin racket. Tom Foster is reinstated as a detective at Riverside but apparently he still gambles and drinks heavily. Johnson reassesses his preconceived ideas of male dancers. Pamela informs Don his wife, Carol, is seeing her father.
Episode 24
Episode 24: Episode 24 (Feb 16, 1978)
One of the Riverside detectives is injured in a shoot out with criminals as they break up a heroin racket. When Pamela agrees to have an old school friend's daughter stay with them, Gayle is very put out. Why should she share her home? Carol reveals her true intentions with regard to Eliot-Smith to her friend.
Episode 25
Episode 25: Episode 25 (Feb 20, 1978)
A distraught mother reports a missing child. At first there appear to be no clues whatsoever. Pamela continues to worry about her father's relationship with Carol. Johnson is enjoying himself in his new role as the suffering patient while Danni and Foster develop a warm and affectionate relationship.
Episode 26
Episode 26: Episode 26 (Feb 23, 1978)
The missing child is found under horrible circumstances. Gayle has found a new friend and confidante in Tracy, their house guest. Johnson is still enjoying his convalescence at Valerie's expense and Danni is faced with a difficult decision.
