A young journalist starts working for the local Antwerp newspaper and has to deal with the disappearance of a young girl. What was first regarded as another silly story, soon appears to be a suspicious case with linkages to the political world. Just when the election campaign in the city of Antwerp is fully erupted.

Season 1:
Amidst the mayoral election campaigns, the disappearance of 14-year-old Lena with isn't even newsworthy enough for the regional paper. Yet its latest journalist recruit Marianne who defies her superiors to investigate the issue, while she should be paying more attention her son Seppe, permanent victim of her career...
While commissioner Volkan Serter's police team massively searches for Lena, Marianne abuses his trust as well and totally neglects Seppe to get a scoop. Then a 107,000 Euros ransom is demanded.
Together with the police, Marianne takes a look at surveillance videos. When she recognizes a man from the fundraiser, she feels she's getting on to something. Later, a search party is formed to find Lena.
During the search party, Lena's mother stumbles upon a horrible scene. Cato makes a shocking confession and new suspect emerges.
Ludo admits he had a fight with Lena on the evening of her disappearance and freaked out. Meanwhile, someone is caught on a surveillance cam using Lena's debit card.
Secrets are exposed and a new suspect is arrested in the Lena Nijs case, shifting the case into high gear. Meanwhile, Seppe hasn't been at school and Marianne is worried when she can't find him.
Marianne discovers who put the note and earring in her mailbox, which puts the death of Lena in a completely new perspective.
Marianne finally solves the mystery surrounding the case Lena Nijs once and for all, meanwhile the moment of Seppe's move to Geneve comes closer.
