Mari's former boyfriend Yoshio has committed suicide. Mari grows suspicious when she learns of his engagement to a woman he met on a matchmaking site.
Megumi is arrested for marriage fraud and murder. Mari harbors doubts and delves into Megumi's past along with a sports journalist named Kengo.
Mari and Kengo travel to the island where Megumi grew up. They hear that she was once the prettiest girl there, but something changed her.
