Season 1:
Ros Marshall has to prove herself as a Junior Crown prosecutor when she gets her first case - acting for a pole dancer who's determined justice will be done... one way or another.
Ros is finding it difficult to follow her older sister Varity's footsteps. Ros' fraud case seems straightforward enough but when love gets in the way, complications set in.
When Ros tries to keep a small-time crim out of jail, she is met with opposition from an unexpected source. Legal aid solicitor Mikey O'Dea reluctantly comes to her aid.
Ros finds her skills tested when a male erotic dancer is assaulted by the captain of a girls' volleyball team during a night out. When Verity conducts a moot court, we get a glimpse of what drew her and Dylan together.
Bedlam in the courtroom as Ros prosecutes a university professor for indecent exposure. Verity takes on a feral ten year old in the Children's Court and Dylan indulges himself with an expensive new car, while supposedly devoid of money when he divorced Verity.
Ros's straightforward bail hearing gets complicated when Dylan becomes her opposing counsel and sees another side to her former brother-in-law. Verity defends Ishbel, a witch accused of embezzlement.
Ros and Mikey lock horns in the family feud from hell. As they try to smooth the troubled waters between warring sisters, an unforeseen circumstance arises. When a woman assaults a shoe salesman on the eve of her wedding she is surprised to find she has Verity's full sympathy.
Ros is desperate to salvage a family treasure from her father's estate. Family tensions escalate as a dispute develops over his estate. When Ros enlists Dylan's help, Verity and Dylan's feelings for each other are rekindled.
It's Ros' first trial and with an unwilling witness it seems unwinable. Although seriously distracted by carnal desires, Verity finds a creative solution to a rental dispute. Dylan's curiosity is aroused when Prue alerts him to Verity's uncharacteristic behaviour - like accidentally wearing odd shoes to a mediation hearing.
When a young man almost dies from a B & D session gone wrong, Ros prosecutes the bondage mistress in charge. She's mystified by her young client's apparent affection for the bondage mistress, until his strange secret is revealed.
When Ros and Verity clash during an assault case, Verity is determined to beat her younger sister. Ros is equally determined to show Verity that she won't be taken for granted. Mikey's hopes soar when Ros decides she wants a 'proper' relationship.
A dilemma for Ros as Dellabosca tells her to up the charges in a theft case while Mikey and the police informant want them reduced. With the police informant's baby due at any time, Don goes with the chaotic flow of the courtroom.
Ros prosecutes a mental impairment case made all the more difficult when the defendant decides to self represent. Verity runs her first prosecution, with the formidable Prue opposing.
Ros tries to fend off an offender who has a crush on her. He remembers her from a past amorous encounter but she has no recollection of him. Much to Mikey's disappointment, Ros and Don continue their hot relationship.
Ros' skills are put to the test when a would-be burglar accidentally snorts the cremated remains of a dog. Her steamy relationship with Don is under threat when she's tempted by an old flame from university.
Ros and Mikey do their best to quell longstanding hostilities between warring neighbours. Their feral clients make life in the courtroom hell. Verity and Scott tackle a penile enhancement gone wrong.
Ros hopes she's not out of depth when Dellabosca assigns her to a child murder committal. When her prime witness falters, the case is in jeopardy.
