Season 1:
This was the pilot for the tv show ""Glynis"", made by Desilu studios. The characters' names were a little different, but Glynis Granville was a harebrained wife of John Granville, an attorney. She helped him solve crimes with her convoluted logic.
Ken Bradford's rich uncle is missing, two days after they had a heated argument. Now he's convinced he will be charged with the murder of the old man. Glynis and Chick, thinking he is guilty, go to the uncle's creepy mansion to prove it. There, Glynis must deal with the real murderer.
A rash of murders of dime a dance girls inspires Glynis to write a book about the same subject. When Keith won't give her the help she thinks she needs to know her subject, she surreptitiously takes a job in a dance hall to do her own 'research'. Coincidentally, the murderer shows up and is smitten with her.
While on a trip to Fresno to try a case, Keith and Glynis become lost, their car breaks down, and Keith has to push it to the nearest motel (Martha's Motel). What they don't know is that the manager of the hotel and her husband have just killed her sister (Martha)and hung her in the cooler (hence, the title of the segment). They have a comedy of errors trying to avoid detection, while Glynis inadvertently witnesses a murder but Keith doesn't believe her.
Harry Dixon, a gambler, offers to give the inside story of ""Willie the Fink"", a gangster, to Glynis.
Do-it-yourselfer Mr. Butterworth says he's writing a story, and asks Glynis for ideas about committing the perfect murder—but the victim is to be his wife.
Keith has important evidence against an underworld boss. Glynis and Chick hire some bodyguards to protect him.
Glynis tries to help three ex-cons. They say they want to go straight, but they suspect that their former employers (organized crime bosses) are trying to frame them.
When an eminent publisher, who has gone over Glynis' latest manuscript without Keith's knowledge, is murdered moments before she arrives at his office, she must call the police and remove evidence that she was there. Before long, she finds herself face to face with the killer.
Visiting a women's prison, Glynis discovers that inmate Aggie is her exact double.
Keith's new client is a cat who has just inherited a fortune.
Glynis discovers that a swinging international playboy who is visiting may be in mortal danger.
Glynis poses as a wealthy society woman in order to catch a jewel thief.
