Season 1:
A psychiatrist with relationship issues looks forward to meeting a handsome, charismatic author whose novels she admires, but she's soon disappointed.
When Jang Jaeyeol's new novel comes out, he learns that his plagiarizing ex also released a book, and she's suing him. Ji Haesoo is surprised by a visitor.
When Haesoo kicks Jaeyeol out of the house, he prepares a lavish good-bye breakfast. Jo Dongmin and Park Soogwang also risk getting expelled.
Haesoo rushes out of Jaeyeol's apartment after spending the night. While retrieving her cell phone later, she sees him at work -- in a new light.
Haesoo loses her temper when Jaeyeol returns home with Oh Sonyeo, who spends the night, but she still allows him to accompany her to a concert.
Jaeyeol starts to open up to Haesoo, but after their kiss, she avoids him, thinking that it was just a whim -- until he asks her to date him.
Jaeyeol shows Haesoo his caring side as he prepares breakfast for her before she leaves for the hospital and plans a trip for the two of them.
Haesoo agrees to a spontaneous trip with Jaeyeol, but they start off on the wrong foot. Will an injured arm and petty quarrels ruin their night?
Haesoo expresses her affection for Jaeyeol while he is writing, which leads to a fight. Soogwang reveals his long-held feelings for Sonyeo.
Haesoo is surprised and hurt when Jaeyeol says he is moving out; Yang Taeyong finds Jaeyeol's wallet and sees something that shakes him to the core.
After a fight, Jaeyeol shows his anger at Haesoo on the air, and she responds in kind; Taeyong asks Jaeyeol to make a call under false pretenses.
Haesoo realizes Jaeyeol's persistent marriage proposals are serious and confides in Dongmin, who finally confronts Jaeyeol about Han Gangwoo.
Haesoo learns of Jaeyeol’s mental disorder and Gangwoo's existence. When she talks to Jaeyeol, he tells her that he thinks Gangwoo will soon die.
Haesoo tries to get Jaeyeol forcibly hospitalized and spends one last heartbreaking night with him. Jaeyeol gets a final call from Gangwoo.
Jaeyeol and Gangwoo -- and Haesoo -- stay at the hospital, but Haesoo can only watch Jaeyeol from a distance, tormented that she cannot help him.
Aware of Jaeyeol's disorder, Haesoo's mother and sister try to intervene. Jaeyeol urges Haesoo to leave him and go to Okinawa for a year.
