Marvel Knights: Inhumans (2013)
The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel's most enduring oddities. A race of genetic outsiders, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers--some extraordinary, some monstrous.

Season 1:
All is not well in the Inhuman city of Attilan, located on the now-risen island of Atlantis. Despite the protective dome surrounding the great city as well as the impenetrable defenses, there is growing reason for concern. Humans crews are scouring the unoccupied portions of the island for their natural resources and Portuguese militias inch their tanks and soldier ever closer to Attilan's outer protective barrier.
The newest group of young Inhumans prepare for their transformation. It is their last night before terrigenesis, and they are forced to grapple with mixed emotions ranging from wonderment to confusion and even some fear. The changes that come with exposure to the terrigen mists can cause drastic changes within an Inhuman. Questions range as to what sort of changes should one expect, what new powers will be gained from these changes, what color will one be and how will one look? Tonaja's fears and doubts are examined in particular as she seeks comfort from her grandmother.
Karnak is approached by Black Bolt and Medusa about this shocking revelation. Karnak confides in Black Bolt and Medusa about this tragic event. Karnak likens Inhuman society to a house of cards. About a hundred years ago Ultarnt was commissioned by the Genetic Council to study the ritual of Terrigenesis. While Inhumans do fulfill their genetic destiny though the process of Terrigenesis, they also become a part of a much larger picture. Inhuman studies have shown that when there is a need in society for a certain roll to be filled; if an integral member of society dies a replacement comes about within a matter of three years.. Climate changes will facilitate suitable mutations. Times of war or strife will facilitate other appropriate mutations. While it is believed that Inhumans adapt based on their own destiny, they actually mutate to adapt to future needs. Terrigenesis based mutations are not random.
The situation in Attilan grows more complicated as Namor claims the island as land belonging to his kingdom.
Earth vs. Attilan -- war! The first salvo has been fired in the assault on the fabled Attilan, whose inhabitants, the INHUMANS, must now decide between diplomacy and retaliation.
The human incursion has most of Attilan distracted, allowing Maximus to use Dewoz to escape his cell and capture Medusa. He finally reveals his hand in all of this and the plans he has for his people, and lets them know what they need to do to stop the fighting quickly. He also reveals what may happen if the fighting isn't stopped quickly enough.
As the battle with humanity continues to threaten the social framework of the INHUMANS, we delve deeper into the mysterious inner workings of Attilan as we see the fabled city through the eyes of one of the most enigmatic and heavily debated Inhumans of them all: LOCKJAW!
Under the city, WOZ fights to survive as MEDUSA struggles to regain her freedom. Up above, the human attacks intensify as MAXIMUS continues his stranglehold on Attilan.
Under the city, Woz fights to survive as Medusa struggles to regain her freedom. And as the battle rages on, one character will pay the ultimate price for an act of bravery!
