Season 1:
Kootje has won tickets for a Dutch cruise. Door is disappointed to find all their friends from Amsterdam are along for the trip. When the ships captain falls ill, Riek insists that Arie takes over.
The MS Alexander docks in Deventer where salesman Cees boards ship to take advantage of all it's passengers. 'Captain' Arie is persuaded to take swimming lessons and Huib is terrible homesick.
Lukas organizes a dress up murder mystery night on board which takes a serious turn when an actual police detective boards ship.
When a group of handicapped passengers boards ship in Maastricht, Door comes face to face with her old flame Lutz Lehman and Arie gets reacquainted with his childhood sweetheart Manuela.
A visit to Volendam and a song contest in traditional clothing are disturbed by cries of woe from a mysterious, spurned bride.
While cruising through Belgium, the tourists from Amsterdam get hot under the collar thanks to the a female sex therapist and her dentist husband.
Lena invites her old Moluccan school friend Ramona aboard in Joure, who takes along her four brothers. Arie and Riek are immediately suspicious which infuriates Lukas into taking drastic measures.
Setting course for Germany, Lukas has begun broadcasting 'Radio Blijdschap'. Then the MS Alexander gets caught in heavy weather at sea.
