Kanji Takizawa worked diligently at a bank, successfully reaching the position of branch manager. Despite the fact that his conversation with his wife Mariko was dwindling and there was a growing distance between him and his young, unmarried daughter, Misaki, he had come to accept his peaceful life. One day, Kanji gets loaned out to a client company for an unjustifiable reason. Shocked, Kanji lies to his family that he was going on a business trip to Switzerland, where he meets and finds a kindred spirit in Shiori Meguro. Meanwhile, Mariko suspects that her husband may be having an affair, and finds herself falling in forbidden love with her daughter’s fiancé, Haruki Hino.

Kanji Takizawa is an elite banker who lives with his lovely wife Mariko and daughter. After some unexpected turn of events business wise, his life begins to change as he makes his way to Switzerland whilst telling his family that he’s on a business trip. There, he meets a particular woman...
After meeting a special person in Switzerland, Kanji Takizawa is unable to stop thinking about her. Eventually, when he goes to his company’s dining hall, he coincidentally meets the woman. Meanwhile, Mariko begins to seriously wonder whether her husband is cheating on her.
Despite transferring to his new work environment, Kanji Takizawa’s presence is still a smoky one as he tries to fit in. Even though he tries to blend in with his co-workers, his efforts lay hidden in the shade. Meanwhile, Kanji’s wife’s recent frustrations over his actions escalates when she eventually discovers that he had been transferred from his original work place at the bank.
When Kanji Takizawa attends a business golf match-up to see whether he has any opportunities of returning to his bank, he recognizes that his wishes remain in the grim. Meanwhile, Kanji’s family matter becomes complicated, after he receives a special kiss in his secret new relationship.
Kanji Takizawa’s relationship with Shiori Meguro begins to develop further. But when they go to a hotel, they coincidentally bump into Misaki who happens to be with guy who is much older than Kanji.
Kanji Takizawa spends the night together with Shiori, whilst telling his wife that he will be staying at his co-worker’s apartment after missing the last train. Meanwhile, after a soundly breakfast together and saying goodbye to Kanji, Shiori feels something awkward with her condition. And when Kanji returns home, his wife ultimately becomes convinced that he might be cheating on her!
Satomi Mizuhara and Sudo Takeshi comes to visit Kanji Takizawa at the hospital and tells him that they are now in a relationship. Meanwhile, when Mariko goes out to the shops with Satomi, she feels a sense of sadness at the way Kanji now talks about his job in carefree attitude.
Kanji and Mariko’s daughter Misaki suddenly goes missing. It turns out that she had just got engaged to her partner. However, on the table, she leaves a note to them which states that she’s going to London with her ‘teacher.’ Mariko feels shocked when she hears the person she’s going there with.
Shiori disappears before Kanji’s sorrowful eyes. She seems to have left her home, quit work at the refectory and is no where to be seen. In the midst of this situation, Kanji gets the order to return to the bank he was on transfer from.
After an unexpected order, Kanji returns to the bank and his wife Miho leaves home. Meanwhile, Kanji becomes the supervisor for the handling of fraudulent loans, but immediately afterwards, an foreseen suicide sends shockwaves.
