Season 1:
After a failed terrorist attack in London, the subcontinent immigrants face a backlash. As a result, a Bengali community faces issues in celebrating Durga puja. While Mahbub tries to save his relationship with his estranged nephew, Tridibesh, the head of the puja committee, tries to find ways of salvaging the puja this year.
While Ganguly tries to corporatise the puja, Tridibesh and Ananya find ways to maintain the sanity of the puja. Meanwhile, Aleem in one hand funds Ganguly and on the other hand he sponsors a fundamentalist group, led by Rehman, to orchestrate a terror attack at that same puja.
As Mahbub and Swapno's relationship deteriorates, she leaves him and starts living with Rehman. A new romantic relationship starts brewing between Mahbub and Sahana. Titir and Swapno also discover mutual affection. Amidst all the negative forces brought down by Ganguly, Ananya tries desperately to consolidate the organising committee so that the puja can happen.
Mahbub, a spy, takes his relationship with Sahana seriously. Meanwhile, Tridibesh suffers from a heart attack and everyone finds out that his days are numbered. This incident leaves Ananya and Mahbub stunned and devastated.
Tridibesh gives up all his savings so that the puja can take place at their traditional location. Mahbub reveals the truth to Sahana that he is a spy. Meanwhile, Rehman and his group come up with a masterplan to invade the puja and plant the bomb.
In the season finale, Mahbub prevents the terrorist attack and most importantly ensures that Rehman’s evil plans are foiled. Love and humanity win over hatred in the end.
