Season 1:
Lawyer Dave Crabtree's troubles begin with the purchase of a decrepit 1928 Porter that claims through the radio to be his mother. Wife, Barbara doesn't want the old wreck but it has an overwhelming appeal for Captain Manzini, a very persistent antique car collector.
Dave fears for his mother's safety when car strippers are reported in the neighborhood.
As Dave drives up the mountains, Mother gets higher and higher from the alcohol in her antifreeze.
When Dave neglects to set the parking break after parking on a hill, Mother rolls into an open van that is bound for Mexico.
Dave's mother badgers him into patching up the quarrel between the battling newlywed couple who lives next door.
