Season 1:
Former "Hill Street Blues" detective Norman Buntz promotes his new West Coast investigation firm, while Sid "the Snitch" Thurston irritates Norm's business neighbor.
It looks to Norm like employee thefts from a clothing store can be deterred with "a police procedure code-named 'Fred Astaire'."
A stakeout for one philandering husband turns up a different one, who happens to be running for the U.S. Senate.
Working on settlements for a plane crash, Norm is outraged that payment for a dog may be four times that of a man.
Norm is arrested for a freeway-shooting incident after chasing the true culprit.
A reporter does a "day in the life" piece on Norm while he's working on a case to produce evidence of a circumcision.
A wealthy couple hire Norm to find their maid's boyfriend, whose Tijuana "travel consultants" lost him during his move north.
Sid and Norm patrol the estate of a sheik to learn who's been vandalizing the sheik's statues.
Norm makes quick work of a missing-person case, and his client is quick to make use of his work.
