Season 1:
Attorneys Julie and Jordan Better all of a sudden have more time for each other than they know what to do with after he gets fired from his corporate gig, and talks her into letting him come work for her firm.
In an effort to create a more open relationship, Jordan and Julie decide to tell each other personal thoughts that they might otherwide have kept to themselves. After they exchange ""helpful hints"" of criticism at the office, the honesty policy continues at home where they take turns confessing their secret sexual fantasies -- she with the package delivery man, he with Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman.
Believing they have too much togetherness, Jordan and Julie plan some time apart. Jordan drags Sebastian and A.J. to a bar against their wills, where Sebastian tries to stop A.J. from asking Stacy out. Meanwhile, Julie stays home and tries to watch a tape of The Mask of Zorro, but only succeeds in getting her hand stuck in the VCR.
When Sebastian's valentine to Stacy winds up in Julie's hands, she thinks she forgot her ""proposeiversary"" and gets Jordan a present to make up for it. But when Jordan denies writing the valentine and they find a copy of it on Sebastian's computer, Stacy has no choice but to come clean -- and admit that Sebastian wrote it for Julie.
Two counselors, the authors of a book titled ""Till Death Do Us Partner,"" monitor Julie and Jordan's work relationship. Meanwhile, Stacy decides that she and Sebastian need ""rules"" for keeping their personal relationship a secret at work.
Julie's father, Leonard, visits her in hopes of getting help with his will.
