Season 1:
Sajo Hyeon, the crown prince with two personalities in one body, meets a woman in a clothing shop. That woman is the only survivor of the Yeon clan, which was wiped out 10 years ago. In order to take revenge, Yeon Wol infiltrated the palace and eventually aimed the tip of her knife at the king
Ak-hee's clever maneuver results in Yeon Wol losing all her memories, placing her on the brink of becoming the Crown Prince's concubine. However, her innate instincts drive her to break free and discover her true identity and rightful place. While wandering beyond the palace confines, she crosses paths with Sajo Hyeon and, with hesitation, chooses to return to the palace, unknowingly stepping into a web of schemes set to engulf her.
With Sajo Hyeon's quick thinking, Yeon Wol manages to narrowly escape the life-threatening scheme. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Yeon Wol tries to express her thanks, unknowingly reopening deep scars for Sajo Hyeon. Sensing vulnerability, Ak-hee seizes the moment to assert control over Sajo Hyeon's body, eventually aiming to lock him up permanently.
Yeon Wol, having regained her memories, prepares for the long-awaited revenge she has devoted her life to. Meanwhile, a clever move by Chung Ta allows Sajo Hyeon to avoid the binding ritual. Gradually, Sajo Hyeon finds comfort in Yeon Wol and starts to open up to her. A rumor swiftly spreads throughout the palace about Yeon Wol's true identity.
Following the enigmatic demise of Sajo Seung, Yeon Wol, wrongly labeled as the assailant, harbors suspicions that Sajo Yoong is the true mastermind behind Sajo Seung's death. Meanwhile, Sajo Hyeon finds himself unable to shake off the thoughts of Yeon Wol, who implored him to believe in her innocence. In the end, Hyeon opts to enter into a precarious arrangement with Ak Hee in a bid to rescue Yeon Wol.
Sajo Hyeon wakes up in the middle of a kiss between Ak-hee and Yeon Wol and has no idea what situation he is in. With the passage of time, the intimacy between Hyeon and Wol intensifies. At the same time, Hyeon becomes aware that Yung is involved in questionable activities, yet he feels powerless to take any action against him. Nevertheless, he discovers a motivation to oppose Yung.
As the newly crowned king, Sajo Hyeon becomes aware that there are more watchful eyes and attentive ears than he had initially expected, closely monitoring his every move. Meanwhile, Sajo Yung is busy concocting another scheme. Simultaneously, Yeon Wol, covertly supporting Hyeon as a court maid, catches wind of the news that Hyeon is slated to spend the night with the Queen.
Ak-hee realizes who holds Yeon Wol's unwavering love, and a wave of jealousy washes over him. Yeon Wol notices suspicious activities within the palace and embarks on an investigation. Meanwhile, Yung, who harbors suspicions about Sajo Hyeon's true identity, approaches Chung-ta for a favor.
Yeon Wol chooses to leave the palace, encouraged by Ak-hee's commitment to assist Sajo Hyeon. Meanwhile, Sajo Hyeon, facing the ongoing disappearance of women, finds himself compelled to make a pivotal decision as the King. Yeon Wol, driven by the urgency of the situation, sets out on her own to rescue the missing women.
Word begins to spread about a troubling rumor suggesting that an evil spirit has taken possession of the King. Sajo Hyeon quickly identifies the source of the rumor. Upon his return, he faces the challenge of restoring the rightful order within the royal family. Simultaneously, Ak-hee unwittingly becomes ensnared in Sajo Yung's trap, compelling him to extricate himself from Sajo Hyeon's body.
As the contagion continues to spread, more people are shifting their allegiance toward Sajo Yung, who is presently incarcerated. Meanwhile, Sajo Hyeon, incapacitated by a Suma dart, remains immobile and speechless, while Ak-hee endeavors to maintain stability within the nation. Yeon Wol diligently seeks any clues that might guide her to Chung-ta in a desperate attempt to rescue Sajo Hyeon.
Ak-hee, betrayed by Chung-ta, finds himself immobilized with a dagger lodged in his back. Though Sajo Hyeon regains consciousness, he is also incapacitated and unable to assist Ak-hee. With both Ak-hee and Hyeon bound, the situation worsens as Sajo Yung is released from prison. Meanwhile, Yeon Wol is risking everything to rescue Hyeon and finally receives a glimmer of hope from Chung-ta.
Following the loss of his memories, Sajo Hyeon initiates a new chapter beyond the confines of the palace. Although reunited with Yeon Wol, his recollection of her identity may be absent, yet their profound connection persists, transcending the obstacles of his amnesia. Meanwhile, Yeon Wol embarks on a journey to honor the commitment she made for the antidote. Upon learning of her endeavor, Sajo Hyeon sets out in search of her.
Ak-hee realizes that his presence is slowly fading away, and knowing all this, Chung-ta makes a tempting offer. Meanwhile, Sajo Hyeon and Yeon Wol are in shock and confusion when they find out that Geum-hwa has conceived a child. Seeing that Yeon Wol is not in her right mind, Yang Jae-yi takes a rather extreme measure to address the situation.
Having gained access to Ak-hee's memories, Sajo Hyeon discerns the deception that has ensnared him and promptly rushes back to the palace. With Yang Jae-yi's demise, Yeon Wol emerges as the anticipated successor to lead the Daggers of the Wind. Meanwhile, Ak-hee is determined to acquire the dagger to execute his plot to eliminate Sajo Hyeon.
After a fierce confrontation between Ak-hee and Sajo Hyeon, Ak-hee successfully plunges the dagger into Hyeon. Simultaneously, Sajo Yung readies himself for the throne. Meanwhile, Sajo Yung employs a cunning tactic, injecting a poisoned needle into Yeon Wol, who collapses immediately afterwards. Ak-hee becomes consumed by what he perceives as love for Yeon Wol.
