Season 1:
Jung Won, as a reporter, excels at uncovering the guilty ones, and not only that, she possesses beauty and is married to a wealthy man. However, everything takes a dramatic turn when she encounters a dead body. To compound matters, a woman she barely knows alleges an affair with Jung Won's husband. The once-perfect facade of Jung Won's life begins to fracture further.
Jung Won can't seem to shake off the startling scene she unexpectedly encountered, prompting her to keep quiet about what she witnessed. She meticulously sifts through Woo Jae's belongings in search of anything dubious, yet comes up empty-handed. Nonetheless, the temporary relief fades quickly, and her suspicions about Woo Jae resurface. Meanwhile, Tae Heon stumbles upon a shocking discovery while reviewing security footage for a separate murder case.
Woo Jae rejects any involvement in Cha Eun Sae’s death and asserts that he is not the father of her unborn child. He also brings up during the investigation that Eun Sae had a sugar daddy who had been looking after her. Meanwhile, Jung Won focuses on Cha Geum Sae, Eun Sae’s brother, as the main suspect and investigates him further.
As Tae Heon unveils an evidence envelope containing a necklace, Jung Won is seized by overwhelming dread, her breath catching in her throat. She comes to the chilling realization that she is now under suspicion for the death of the woman entangled in an affair with her husband. Adding to her distress is the possibility of another woman deeply embedded in Woo Jae's life. Bewildered and frightened, Jung Won struggles to comprehend the gravity of the situation.
In a startling revelation, Jung Won uncovers that it was none other than Yoo Yoon Young who guided her to the scene of the murder. Meanwhile, Tae Heon meticulously pursues leads to unveil the culprit behind Cha Eun Sae's death. Jung Won delves into unlawfully recorded counseling sessions, unveiling the enigmatic persona of Lee Na Ri. As the truth becomes increasingly elusive with every turn, Jung Won ventures to Mueon City.
At Mueon High School, Jung Won uncovers crucial information about Lee Na Ri, potentially linking the factory fire, Jin Myung Sook, Cha Eun Sae, and Mo Hyung Taek. Meanwhile, Tae Heon learns that Yoo Yoon Young’s car was captured by a speeding camera in Owol-dong on the day of the murder.
Upon confirming Yoon Young's alibi, Tae Heon hits a dead end, forcing him to reevaluate the investigation from scratch. Meanwhile, Woo Jae learns about Tae Heon and Jung Won's former romantic involvement and cautions Tae Heon against revisiting it. Jung Won, following an unpleasant three-way session involving Woo Jae and Yoon Young, realizes she's being followed.
She feels her existence is in serious jeopardy when Jung Won is kidnapped by an unidentified individual. The man's objective is to obtain her confession, specifically admitting to being the murderer. Meanwhile, while Yoon Young is asleep in a drunken state, Woo Jae investigates her belongings and discovers a photograph of Jung Won's necklace saved on one of her USB drives.
