Season 2:
Saladin, struggling to survive in a well, is inadvertently found by Lord Balian, who is returning after visiting his dying brother, Hugh, in Ibelin. Meanwhile, Sultan Nureddin is distressed by Saladin’s absence from Damascus and considers supporting Şaver against Dırgam after consulting with Kadı Fazıl from Egypt's Construction Council. In Jerusalem, King Amalrik prepares for his coronation while in Egypt, Vizier Dırgam prepares for the Nile Festival, secretly admiring Şemse. Count Miles of Kerak departs for Egypt, leaving his wife, Countess Mila. Nureddin travels to Jerusalem to query King Amalric about Saladin's disappearance. When Karategin informs Shirkuh, Shaver, and Yaruki that Saladin is in Cairo, their plans for Egypt are altered.
Saladin, enduring many hardships for Jerusalem, finds solace in the voice of Şemse, who stops a fierce battle between him and Balian with her singing. Şemse breaks her oath for silence at Kadı Fazıl's request, saving Saladin and Balian from Vizier Dırgam's wrath. Kadı Fazıl, with Karategin and Yaruki, aims to save Saladin from the slave trader Elyesa. Count Hugh, protector of Ibelin, entrusts his last wish to Lord Giyom. Count Miles of Kerak, who trapped Saladin, ultimately leaves his fate in Saladin's hands. King Amalric, masking ambition with peace, ignores Miles' funeral, leading Miles' widow Mila to vow revenge with Cemşit's help. Kadı Fazıl, battling with words, enlists Şemse to join a scheme on the Nile. Şemse, amazed at seeing a dream figure in reality, ponders if she will fall for Saladin. Saladin, with loyal followers, shifts Egypt's balance, affecting Shaver and Dırgam's fates. The Nile becomes a metaphorical stage, deciding who rises and falls.
Sultan Nureddin plans to make King Amalric pay for his Egyptian plot by capturing Bakras Castle, a key Templar base, with Yaruki and Mevdud leading the mission. Balian learns of Hugh's last wish and undertakes a perilous mission that brings him and Saladin together again, along with Doctor Latif, Halil, and Şemse. Mila, seeking revenge, hides in the bazaar after assassinating Saladin's trapper. Şaver, supported by Zangi, continues his schemes with Cevher. Ambitious knight Guy and William, a key Crusader policy maker, unite to enact their plans for the Ibelin countship. Chatillon, released by King Amalric despite his past cruelty, reenters the scene. The central conflict is whether the Templars will follow Nureddin Zengi’s orders or Hugh’s dying wish.
Yaruki and Mevdud, assigned by Sultan Nureddin to conquer Bakras Castle, face an unexpected event that angers the Sultan, leading to severe repercussions for those involved. Giyom, visiting Bakras Castle without King Amalrik's permission, confronts Guy due to the events there. Upon returning to Jerusalem, he's accused by the King of stealing the Kingdom's money and is harshly punished. Balian, after leaving Bakras, bids farewell to Saladin and returns to Ibelin to visit his brother's grave, planning to return to France. An unexpected sight challenges his resolve, but he remains determined despite his loved ones' wishes. Saladin returns to Cairo with Şemse, Latif, and Halil. Though their initial goal may be achieved, their return leads them into a chaotic vortex of events. Saladin, working with Kadı Fazıl, encounters unforeseen challenges and people.
Emir Saladin seeks the arrow shot in Cairo while Kadı Fazıl, shielding himself from the Egyptian vizier, is worried. Vizier Shaver, trying to repay a debt to Nureddin Zengi, incites people against the Zengis by having Commander Mahmud hanged. Saladin aims to expose Shaver's lies. Sultan Nureddin, aware the path to Jerusalem goes through Cairo, seeks answers for the recent defeat. Giyom faces trial for his sins in Bakras, while Sibylla, Guy, and William react differently to the court proceedings. Mila whispers the truth about Egypt's mysteries to Saladin. Şemse arrives in Jerusalem, finding a trace of his mother. King Amalrik is making a critical decision: whether Ibelin will fall to the treacherous Chatillon or principled Balian.
Before Nureddin could reunite with Saladin, Saladin was again called to Egypt. Cathillon sought to disrupt the peace between Nureddin and Amalric by inciting discord in Gaza. The attack on Gaza, which houses the tomb of Sayyid Hashim bin Abdumanaf, altered Saladin's plans. Saladin sought the perpetrators, and King Amalric sent Balian to Gaza, bringing them together. Karategin, who went to assist Saladin, faced haunting memories. The identities behind the Gaza massacre and Karategin's secret remain unknown. Şemse is close to finding his mother in Damascus. Saladin, seeking revenge, aims to uncover those responsible for the discord.
Saladin and Balian are shocked upon learning the true mastermind behind the Gaza raid. Chatillon and Guy's scheme causes Saladin to distrust Balian. Vizier Shawar, seeking to bolster his power in Egypt, allies with King Amalric, who sees an opportunity amid Jerusalem's wheat shortage. This alliance threatens the Zengid. Saladin heads to Egypt with a plan, while Balian arrives ahead of him, setting the stage for possible conflict or cooperation. Samse uncovers a crucial secret about her mother with Saladin's help, potentially influencing her relationship with Saladin. Karategin, affected by the Gaza raid, embarks on a personal journey to find answers. The power struggle between Sultan Nureddin and King Amalric over control of trade routes intensifies, with the outcome uncertain.
Balian, sent by Amalric to establish a Crusader presence in Cairo, is captured by Emir Saladin. King Amalric, enraged by the security breach in Jerusalem and Balian's capture, enlists Chatillon. For Nureddin, it's now time to conquer Egypt. Chatillon, planning to destroy Saladin, benefits from a secret revealed by Mila, who infiltrates Cairo disguised as a Muslim, challenging Saladin and Şemse. Guy exploits Jerusalem's wheat crisis for his gain, plotting through Sibylla to clear his path to the kingdom. Questions remain about Mila's scheme, the fate of Saladin and Şemse's relationship, Shaver's activities in Cairo, and Saladin's potential conquest of Egypt with Nureddin's army.
