Generation Wembley (2023)
The six-part series outlines the journey to the first treble in the club's history in 2013 and in fact begins in the years before, when the team and the entire club steadily developed through ups and downs. Players, coaches and decision-makers from back then tell how they experienced everything that moved them and what it means to them, even with the distance of a whole decade, to be part of this history and of FC Bayern.

Season 1:
On 8 April 2009, FC Bayern are already 4-0 down against Barcelona at half-time. There's no sign of the euphoria that had been so massive following the appointment of new coach Jürgen Klinsmann. On the contrary: In order to once more live up to their ambitions in the Champions League, FC Bayern are going to have to reinvent themselves all over again - with strong support from the Netherlands.
After some initial problems, the team have internalised coach Louis van Gaal's vision and by 2010 are once again able to compete with the best in Europe, culminating in the final against José Mourinho's Inter Milan. The following season, Bayern's engine starts misfiring again, causing disquiet in the club and the surrounding environment. But a new opportunity emerges for an almost forgotten star striker.
With a new and at the same time tried and tested coach as well as a newly enlisted world-class goalkeeper from Gelsenkirchen, FC Bayern are looking to return to the top echelons of Europe and the Bundesliga. But in Dortmund, a team is developing that won't be content with second place. It's the birth of a rivalry between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund that continues to this day.
In 2012, the Champions League final is scheduled to take place in Munich - This is FC Bayern's big goal! To become the first club to reach a CL final in their own stadium, the Munich side must better one of the best teams in the world in the semi-finals - Real Madrid, coached by José Mourinho. The clash with Los Blancos will go down as one of the most dramatic semi-finals in the history of both clubs.
It's 19 May 2012 and the Champions League Final is taking place in Munich. FC Bayern face Chelsea, and the whole city has been hyped up for days. The Reds are well prepared despite the suspension of some of their stars. Everything is in place to make this day the biggest in the club's history. It would become the worst one...
After the most painful season in the club's history, the team have to pick themselves up again - and do so in impressive fashion. At the end of a historic campaign, FC Bayern are indeed in the Champions League final again. In London, at the legendary Wembley Stadium, the opponents are Borussia Dortmund, and for the generation led by Lahm and Schweinsteiger, this game is about much more than the trophy.
