Season 2:
In the season two premiere?Emily helps the Lus create a beach-chic bedroom. Culbert, Candice, and their adorable daughter Kelsey, have just moved in to their spacious Manhattan Beach home and are having trouble decorating the one room they seem to spend the most time in - their bedroom. Enter Emily, with some stylist secrets and a brilliant bedroom concept that'll bring color and life to this boring second floor space. A tour of the room and a style diagnostic help Emily get started. The design plan: trasform the Lus space, layer-by-layer, using coastal inspirations. Her first look is a west coast beach theme. Traditional sand and sea colors, and lots of reclaimed wood, transform the Lus bedroom in to a pacific escape. For her second look, Emily infuses a bit of cape cod class.
Emily helps the Duanes transform their spacious, ranch-style home. Kevin and Michelle Duane have been living in their north LA home for about a year now and their finally ready to make it their own. While they love the size and layout of their living/dining area, both agree that the space is completely void of any character. A tour of the space and a style diagnostic reveal Michelle and Kevin are a combination of California Comfort and New York Cool. Emily styles the space layer-by-layer beginning with a relaxed and cozy, modern design. She follows up with a layer of fresh and funky and accessories to help capture the Duane's eccentric charm.
Newlyweds Chris and Krishann love their LA bungalow but can't quite figure out how decorate their living area. Their biggest challenge has been deciding on how to accessorize the space. When it comes to style, Krishann says she's living in the past. Vintage-chic is the name of her game and she'd like her living space to reflect that. Chris, on the other hand, is much more modern when it comes to his design sense and he'd like to see something streamlined, and maybe even a little futuristic, in the room he frequents the most. The couple hopes Emily can help blend their time traveling tastes. Emily tours the space and performs a style diagnostic on the pair to determine what two styles she'll layer together. With a concept in mind, she hits up a few of her favorite shops to get started on her next project!
Pamela and Tricia Hayne love the home they grew up in, but hate how outdated their family room has become. With their mothers blessing, the two enlist Emily's help to try and modernize their living space. The result is a classic, feminine design with bright, '70s-inspired accessories.
Emily helps a quirky young couple create a geek-chic guest room. Newlyweds Moye and Brandon love to have family and friends visit but cant quite compose an inviting guest room for anyone to stay in. Both are huge graphic novel fans and would love to create a room in their home that reflects their creative style. Emily tours the space and performs a style diagnostic on the pair to suss out the styles she'll be working with. She concludes that the perfect space for this pair ? and their guests ? would be a combination of playful, adventuresome, graphic novel, and antique. With a concept in mind, Emily heads for one of her favorite furniture shops to find the perfect bed to center the space.
Josh and Kareen Rubel have lived in their grand Calabasas home for almost a year and their living room is still unfurnished. With full time jobs and three little ones vying for their attention, neither has the time nor the energy, to sit and discuss what they'd like to do with the space. Emily performs a style diagnostic on the pair and determines that they've definitely got an old-world feel to their style ? but with a slightly contemporary bent. She titles her next project Modern European Traditional and gets to work.
Eccentric parents David and Lisa Bragger love their home but feel its due for a major update. They have two little girls who've taken over the first floor with all of their stuff and their hoping Emily can help revamp their dining room to function as their family eatery by day, and a jug band jam space by night. Emily performs a style diagnostic on the pair and determines they're a combination of Retro, Polynesian, and Kitsch? with a little bit of a modern flare.
Michael Reisz recently moved in to a beautiful, two-level, Mediterranean style home and he couldn't be more excited. Unfortunately, all of the furnishings he's brought with him just don't seem to work together in his new space. Emily offers to help Michael find a way to tie each section of his enormous living/dining space together. The results are breathtaking.
Kirk and Joni Bovill recently downsized and are having trouble adjusting to their new space. Though cozy and well structured, the home isn't big enough for their larger than life personalities. The Bovills' hope Emily can bring color and character to their home. Emily begins with a style diagnostic and determines that Kirk and Joni's personalities would best be suited by an untraditional, colorfully eclectic new look. The final space has an 'Untamed Modern Funk' style both of them love.
Emily helps a clashing couple combine their very different tastes. When it comes to style, Jenny and Louis can't quite seem to get on the same page. Jenny is in to simple, slightly kitschy styles and would prefer her family's home have a bit of personality, without being too forward or modern. Louis, on the other hand, would love to transform their living space in to a high-style, neo-classic, family hang out. Emily performs a style diagnostic and determines the two are a combination of eclectic, artsy and modern... before long she brings their own personal style to life.
David and Renee recently moved to California and are in the process of setting up their new west coast abode. While they've been able to compromise on the rest of the house, they've had a bit of difficulty trying to decide how to decorate their bedroom. David would like a space that's clean and modern. Renee, on the other hand, loves everything vintage and would like something with an old Hollywood feel. Emily performs a style diagnostic on the pair and determines that they're a combination of relaxed and conservative-practical with a little bit of fun. She sums it all up by titling the look 'Playful Hollywood Zen' and creates a space that fits their style.
Nikita Adams has just purchased her very first condo and is ready to decorate. Unfortunately, she has no idea where to begin and says she's quite intimidated by interior design. Emily performs a style diagnostic and determines that Nikita's African heritage has a large influence on her design tastes. Emily decides to combine the cultural elements of Nikita's roots, with her vivacious, outgoing personality and titles her next project Sexy Afro Glam.
Actress April Bowlby just purchased a new home in the Hollywood Hills but she's has had little opportunity to decorate due to her very hectic film schedule. She hopes Emily can help style the one room she looks forward to spending time in the most? her bedroom! Emily performs a style diagnostic and titles her next project 'Modern Effortless Romance.'
