This one-hour show was based on the 1973 film Walking Tall, which was based on the life of Buford Pusser. Here, Pusser is the sheriff of McNeal County, Tennessee, fighting criminals each week in 1969.

Season 1:
Michael resists peer-pressure, and is branded a ‘stool pigeon’, when he helps his Father out, with some information on a local PCP operation.
Buford declares war on a white supremacist group from a neighboring county, when they stir up racial trouble in McNeal County.
Brother bank robbers take an innocent family hostage, and demand the release of their Father – Seriously wounded during a robbery, and being held in the McNeal County jail.
The local mob wants Buford out of the way, so they bring in a professional – An old friend of Buford’s, who carries a grudge.
While investigating the disappearance of a Miner, Buford uncovers murder and corruption in a nearby mining town.
Buford goes after the operators of a chemical plant that is dumping illegal quantities of hazardous by-products into the local river.
A Priest has information – Heard in the sanctity of The Confessional – That could stop an illegal arms deal, and, despite Buford’s persistence, refuses to break his Promise Of Obedience.
