Season 1:

The cholera epidemic continues to infect many unlucky individuals. Dr. Jin makes an effective treatment and begins to work his charms on the Emperor's fiancée.
Dr. Jin cures cholera in the emperor's territory. This earns him an important place in teaching other physicians his techniques.

Ha Eung decides to leave the regime and resign. Jin Hyuk advises drunk Ha Eung to find what he can do for the young King. On the other hand, Jin Hyuk goes to Kyung Tak to save Young Rae and confesses his secret with a request to protect Heung Sun.
Despite of Jin Hyuk and Daewongoon Heung Sun’s efforts, the French invasion of Byung In Yang Yo begins. Jin Hyuk, shocked by Choon Hong’s last words, steps up to the cliff. On the other hand, Kyung Tak tries to kidnap King Go Jong according to Byung Hee’s order to assassinate him.
At the French Invasion, the army of Chosun is helpless. Kang Hwa Island is under attack and at a critical risk of occupation. Ha Eung announces that he will take the troops himself to Kang Hwa Island to drive the French out. Ha Eung understands that he has volunteered for a crucial job that his own position depends on.
