Season 1:
Detective Yugami, a quirky and unconventional investigator, partners with the ambitious rookie Hanyu to solve the suspicious death of a female college student, uncovering a web of secrets involving harassment and a mysterious suspect.
Yugami and Hanyu investigate an attempted rape case involving a middle school teacher, Chisato, who was attacked in her apartment. Although Chisato refuses to cooperate, the detectives discover a connection between her and a student, leading to the identification of a suspect through clues left at the scene.

Despite the eerie similarities to a crime depicted in an unfinished novel by a notorious criminal, Yugami remains oddly uninterested, even as the team pursues the case, suspecting the doctor’s long-lost son might be involved.
Yugami mysteriously vanishes after visiting a hospital where Hizumi is in a coma. Meanwhile, Hanyu and the team discover that the supposed dead author, who was responsible for the murders years ago, may still be alive and behind recent crimes.
