Episode 1: Lawless Law Firm (May 12, 2018)
Bong Sang Pil is known as the gangster lawyer. He is known to fight with his fist and the law. After hearing news that Cha Moon Sook was appointed as judge for the retrial of the murder of the mayor of Giseong, Lee Young Soo, Sang Pil decides to return to his hometown for the first time in 18 years. Meanwhile, Ha Jae I punches a judge for a wrongful verdict. She ends up getting suspended and returns home after getting fired from her law firm.

Episode 2: The Hearing (May 13, 2018)
After returning to Kiseong, Sang Pil takes over the office that his mother, a civil rights lawyer, used to use. He keeps busy trying to get the chance to defend Hyung Man for the murder of Kiseong's Mayor, Lee Young Soo. Jae I begins to wonder why Sang Pil is so determined to work on this case. She begins to look into it to find out. The day of the hearing is finally here, and Jae I faces danger on her way to the courthouse. Will Sang Pil go to rescue her?

Episode 3: I’m Going to be Arrested Today (May 19, 2018)
After saving Jae I, Sang Pil and Jae I arrive at the courthouse. Sang Pil reveals a shocking truth that changes the conditions of the trial. However, Sang Pil ends up getting arrested for disrupting the trial. While Sang Pil is in prison, Jae I begins to look into the truth behind Mayor Lee Young Soo's murder case. Jae I begins to see Sang Pil in a different light. Meanwhile, Sang Pil agonizes over how to tell Jae I the truth about her mother.

Episode 4: Prove It to Me (May 20, 2018)
Sang Pil devises a plan to ruin An Oh Ju's chances of becoming mayor. Jae I begins to get suspicious of Sang Pil as he seems to be going overboard. She wonders why he seems to be targeting Moon Sook and Oh Ju for no reason. She goes to visit Hyung Man in prison and finds out a shocking truth. Meanwhile, Moon Sook attends an event for the unveiling of her father's statue at Kiseong District Court.

Episode 5: I Came Here For A Reason (May 26, 2018)
Sang Pil and Moon Sook face each other after revealing who they are. Sang Pil tells Moon Sook that he will see this case through. However, Moon Sook is not affected by his declaration. Jae I sees the two of them talking and is shocked to hear the truth. She has a hard time believing what she saw and starts to look into Moon Sook on her own. Sang Pil feels bad about Jae I and keeps an eye on her. Jae I finally finds out the truth about what happened 18 years, but it ends up causing her more trouble.
I’ll Keep Your Promise
Episode 6: I’ll Keep Your Promise (May 27, 2018)
Sang Pil tells Jae I about the true face of Moon Sook. Sang Pil and Jae I work together to prove Young Man is not guilty of murdering the mayor Lee Young Soo. Young Man finds out Jae I is Hyun Joo’s daughter. Yeon Hee asks Moon Sook for forgiveness.
Wake Up
Episode 7: Wake Up (Jun 02, 2018)
Oh Ju has finally accomplished his old desire. He starts to begin the Golden City redevelopment project. Meanwhile, he tries to take revenge on Hyung Man, who puts him in trouble. Sang Pil and Jae I try to stop Oh Ju from doing so. Sang Pil and Jae I versus Moon Sook and Oh Ju begins now.

Episode 8: Hold On (Jun 03, 2018)
Jae I runs into Hyun Joo, her mother, in 18 years, but doesn’t recognize her. Dae Woong finds out that Hyun Joo has moved back to Kiseong, so he decides to move to Kiseong to meet Oh Ju. Meanwhile, due to Sang Pil's action, Oh Ju fails to keep his shares, so he decides to revenge on Sang Pil in a cruel way.
Fighting from the Inside Out
Episode 9: Fighting from the Inside Out (Jun 09, 2018)
Sang Pil, who succumbs to Mayor An’s evil plot, now faces murder charges for Dae Woong’s death. Sang Pil and his supporters all fight to prove Sang Pil’s innocence but face unexpected circumstances in court that keeps Attorney Ha on her toes. To make matters worse, Sang Pil is confronted by an old acquaintance that puts him fighting for his life.
Keep Your Enemies Close
Episode 10: Keep Your Enemies Close (Jun 10, 2018)
Jae I is torn to see her love, Sang Pil, sustain injuries and visits him frequently at the hospital. Sang Pil again faces adversaries and fights to see Jae I one more time. The war between the oppressor and the oppressed deepens while new alliances form. The trial for the murder of Choi Dae Woong continues with the most unpredicted witness taking the stand.
New Alliances
Episode 11: New Alliances (Jun 16, 2018)
Sang Pil is acquitted of murder at Mayor An’s shocking testimony. Sang Pil is released with all charges dismissed and regroups with the Lawless Law Firm to carry on with his revenge. Meanwhile, Judge Cha’s acceptance of chief justice causes Nam Soon Ja, Judge Cha’s personal secretary, to worry about her daughter’s future. Judge Cha faces the onslaught of the media when an anonymously sent picture with her surfaces; possibly putting her in connection with the disappearance of Han Cheol Kyu, the union president of the Golden City Project.
Wars are Fought with Swords
Episode 12: Wars are Fought with Swords (Jun 17, 2018)
After sustaining an attack from a defendant’s father, whose son was sentenced to death, Judge Cha slips out of the media’s suspicions regarding the photo. Meanwhile, Bong Sang Pil finds out the true identity of Mama and does not share it with Jae I. Bong Sang Pil finds crucial evidence linking Mayor An to the Choi Dae Woong murder case and uses it put Mayor An in quite the predicament.
Play Your Cards When You Can
Episode 13: Play Your Cards When You Can (Jun 23, 2018)
Bong Sang Pil now knows who had sent him the notebook and who is playing what hand. He uses this knowledge and devises a plan to ruin Judge Cha’s escape and save Jae I’s mother from murder. Overnight, Mayor An becomes the main suspect in Choi Dae Woong’s murder case due to Gwan Dong’s recorded message and looks to team up with Jae I to bury the past. Meanwhile, Jae I is still upset with Bong Sang Pil for not telling her about her mother and unforgivingly pursues her mother’s whereabouts without him.
I Want to Make a Deal with You
Episode 14: I Want to Make a Deal with You (Jun 24, 2018)
Thanks to Sang Pil’s efforts, Jae I and her father are reunited with her mother after 18 years. Sang Pil’s final plan to bring down Chan Sook goes into effect. Soon Ja is arrested and facing trial when she realizes that Chan Sook has cut her loose. She gets a tempting offer from Sang Pil. Meanwhile, Oh Ju, who is on the run, faces off with Sang Pil after abducting Jae I.
Loyalty Means Nothing
Episode 15: Loyalty Means Nothing (Jun 30, 2018)
An Oh Ju, who is still being chased by the police, kidnaps Jae I to draw Sang Pil to him. Sang Pil rushes to Jae I and confronts An Oh Ju with vengeance but not without a plan to win him over for his end game. Things heat up in the trial for the murder of the Thai accupressurist as Judge Cha sits as the presiding judge. The defendant, Nam Soon Ja, looks to Sang Pil and Jae I to show their skills as lawyers to bail her out of her predicament, but ultimately, it is her testimony that will determine her fate.
The Final Testimony
Episode 16: The Final Testimony (Jul 01, 2018)
In the trial against Nam Soon Ja, Bong Sang Pil and Ha Jae I work together to finalize their revenge where the unthinkable takes place. New witnesses and evidence emerge as Judge Cha squirms to get free of any accusations thrown by the “lawless” couple. Judge Cha does all she can to remove those who can testify against her in and out of the courtroom—including Nam Soon Ja. But is that enough? At the turning point of the trial, Nam Soon Ja agonizes over choosing the right side that will determine her fate and the fate of her daughter.
